KY VII's 5th Annual C.O.P.S. Run is a Resounding Success!
On Saturday, July 19th, KY VII hosted their 5th Annual COPS Run to benefit Kentucky's Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). The ride was held at Bluegrass Harley-Davidson, located at 11701 Gateworth Way off Blankenbaker Lane. Our sponsors were:
- Bluegrass Harley-Davidson
- Tattoo Charlie's
- Texas Roadhouse
The ride was a resounding success. The 50/50 raised $534, with $267 going to both the winner and the total. The winner, Dwight Szabo of Texas Roadhouse, donated his winnings back to the cause. We also auctioned off three (3) items donated: a hand-embroidered Harley-Davidson quilt made my Mrs. Ozzie Jennings of Portland, a Harley-Davidson Cornhole Game made by Members Eric & Lori Ebel, and an autographed basketball, signed by Coach Denny Crum and many former U of L players; donated by Members Jack & Sharon Raines. The quilt was won by Jack & Sharon Raines for $100. The basketball was won by Dwight Szabo for $125. The Cornhole Game was won by Bob Noble for $140. All total, the ride raised $4,300.00 for Kentucky C.O.P.S.; amounting to nearly $16,000 over the past 5 years!
We would like to extend a special thanks to Rick & Judy Bennett (Bluegrass Harley-Davidson), Dwight Szabo (Texas Roadhouse), Buddy Wheeler (Tattoo Charlie's), Bill Keeling, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Motor Corps; as well as the following clubs that provided great support: Blue Knights KY I, Blue Knights KY II, Blue Knights KY III, Blue Knights KYXI, Blue Knights KY XVI, and the Guns of Justice M/C. Thanks also to ALL of the KY VII Members that donated their time and efforts to make this run the success that it turned out to be! |
